! It’s Possible’s anniversary! It has been active for 9 years.
How do we get started?
Possible really started in 2011 with our founding partner, Pablo Gajino, who began that year to work as a freelancer in web application programming projects for companies. As a result of the first projects came the need to create a trademark and thus Possible was born.
The original logo and name were born between the ideas of Pablo and a designer, a personal friend, who has also collaborated with Possible on some projects in the past, Fernando Molina (from here we send him a hug).
The trademark was created in 2012, hence this year, we celebrate the 9th anniversary of our brand.
Early years
As always the beginnings were not easy, and in the beginnings in Possible we did everything, hosting, mails, websites, apps, customized programming of all kinds and for all types of companies and individuals. It was a time where you had to get experience and do all kinds of projects, to see what worked and what didn’t.
In those early years, the company joined the one who would end up being a partner of the same, Iago Ocarranza Prado, as responsible for the technical part and managed to give a boost to the company. Thanks to its incorporation Possible did research and innovation projects for other companies such as Quobis and we began the relationship with the IAG group. In addition, we increased the staff little by little relying on mainly telecommunications and computer engineers with offices in the PTL of Vigo, very close to the university campus.
Trial and error
During the first years, the company was investing in new products (in 2015 Wokey and Garagapp were born) and in improving the financial and economic analysis part of it. In doing so we saw that we had a lot of volume, but little profitability and after a more detailed analysis, we concluded that small projects for individuals, self-employed or microenterprises were very unprofitable even when the effort, quality and commitment had to be maintained.
With our products Wokey and Garagapp we also did many tests and trials at a technical level, but also of strategy and marketing that earned us to know what did not work and what did (I wish we had known before!).
Evolution and growth
With clear ideas and a vision of what kind of company we wanted to be, we reduced volume and focused on large projects, solid companies and capturing accounts and customers with these characteristics. At first we had to say no to projects and customers and logically reduce the turnover, but little by little we were growing steadily maintaining billing and customers, and improving the team little by little to reach what is today Possible.
The new data line
As a result of the growth and evolution of the company, we also started, in 2017, a line of business based on automated data analytics and the generation of automatic knowledge thanks to the incorporation of data specialists, which has gradually been growing and taking center stage in the company and that we see as a line of the future that will allow us to differentiate ourselves from other similar companies at a national and international level.
This line was born as a result of the collaboration with Javier Martinez, bachelor’s degree in mathematics, master in mathematical engineering, and doctor in environmental engineering, who collaborates with Possible as a scientific and technical advisor precisely in topics related to his areas of knowledge of which we cite some: advanced data statistics, machine learning or classification algorithms and machine learning.
Time to celebrate!
During 2019-2021 we have grown a lot in both staff and customers, incorporating into our portfolio local companies with international projection such as DFG, but also companies from other countries.
In addition, the company has an increasingly consolidated team and we expect to continue growing sustainably in the coming years.
In September, we will host an event to celebrate the anniversary and thank customers and our staff for their trust and commitment, as Possible’s achievements are those of its customers and employees.
